Alberto Polleri, PhD - Yarvis

Alberto Polleri is a seasoned technology leader with over 30 years of experience spanning data science, artificial intelligence, and the full lifecycle of product development and operations. His expertise ranges from traditional machine learning and advanced statistical modelling to computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and modern agentic AI systems, giving him a rare end-to-end perspective on how AI has evolved—and how to apply it effectively today.

Alberto has led global technology and data organisations and taught advanced mathematics, statistics, and machine learning, always with a strong focus on practical, customer-centric problem solving. His work includes tackling highly complex mathematical modelling challenges and building production-grade AI solutions across a wide range of domains, including financial credit risk, fraud prevention, KYC/AML, retail, accounting, HR, sales and marketing, healthcare, Formula 1 racing, sailing, automotive, and renewable energy.

He is particularly passionate about creating well-engineered, scientifically grounded AI products, backed by robust operational infrastructure, rigorous monitoring, and real-world reliability. Today, Alberto is CEO of YARVIS Technologies, a software consulting firm dedicated to all things AI. Previously, he was Oracle’s first Global Chief Data Scientist and built Experian’s Data Lab in EMEA, following a successful academic career.

Alberto’s career has been inherently international, shaped by professional experiences in the UK, USA, Germany, Denmark, and Italy, where he was born and raised. He holds a PhD in theoretical nuclear physics, has taught at leading universities, served as an executive at world-class corporations, sits on the boards of several startups, and is a trustee of a London charity supporting local transportation.
