Tycho Tax

Tycho specialises in building well-engineered ML solutions where rigorous modelling meets real-world production constraints, drawing on a strong quantitative foundation in mathematics, statistics, and physics.

Tycho is the Co-Founder and CTO at Datura.io, where he leads the development of ML-driven products for financial decision-support and risk intelligence. He has previously led and delivered ML solutions across a wide range of domains—including climate, health, and online harms. At Corti.ai, he built end-to-end speech and NLP systems for emergency medical services, combining robust speech recognition in noisy environments with downstream clinical prediction and decision support.

He holds an MSc (Distinction) in Applied Mathematics from Imperial College London, where he also worked as a junior researcher. Tycho has published on information theory, speech recognition, and representation learning in venues including Entropy, ICASSP, and NeurIPS, and has contributed to policy work on responsible AI at the Dutch governmental think-tank (WRR). He continues to mentor researchers through Climate Change AI.

At Kitnetic, Tycho supports us as an external advisor on AI, covering NLP, speech, and responsible ML development—with a particular interest in climate and health applications.
